Osteria Pitti&Friends
The Osteria Agricola Toscana Pitti & Friends is located in the center of the square of the ancient village of Torre a Cenaia, also known as “Old Cenaja”, historical property of the famous Florentine Pitti family. It is the heart of an ancient world that still preserves the charm of the past: facing the entrance some plane trees cut out a large green space that separates it from the “House of towers”, the villa with the crenellated tower that gives its name to the estate.
Documented since the XII century together with the picturesque church of St. Andrew, which is merged with the massive walls of the ancient castle, with the large wine cellar and the Italian garden, it is a small town suspended in time and space. All around there are fields, woods, cypresses, vineyards and ponds for about 500 hectares, from which come most of the products you find on the tables of the Osteria.
Inside, two rooms furnished with taste and simplicity welcome you in an intimate setting, sophisticated but cozy, born from the meeting of tradition and modernity. In one of these rooms you can also get small private corners: large draperies can be maneuvered amongst the ancient columns to allocate some places only for your, a sort of alcove in which to share our culinary excellence with those you cherish most. In the warm season, the square in front of the Osteria and the wide iron gazebo become available space for lunches, dinners and private parties.
Why “Osteria Agricola Toscana Pitti & Friends”?
The name itself is its banner: the suggestive name “Osteria”, from the Latin “hostem” which means “guest”, joins and renews itself with the modern conjunction &, immediate symbol of unity and sharing.
“Friends” as “amici” but also as an allusion to the many and various products of Torre a Cenaia that are the basis of the culinary offer at the Osteria: all that gives life to its delicious dishes, in fact, was born and raised in the vast estate or as close as possible to it. For this reason it can boast proudly of the name “Agricola”: a real belief, a choice to customer warranty, synonymous with environmental sustainability and respect for the land.
